I was pondering what I wanted to do with my life Saturday night, because as fun as hanging out with the bff and chowing down on Reduced Fat Wheat Thins and frozen pudding was, I'm pretty sure there's more beyond that. I lamented that I lost the "Things to do before I die" list I made a few years ago when I was hit with an epiphany! I'd make a list, but break it down into manageable decades. I guess I already got a start on it with this Top Three, but it was begging to be expanded. It's probably going to change a lot, so if you have any brilliant suggestions, let me know!
Twenties
Tour Europe
Get my Bachelor's Degree (almost there!) and Master's Degree
Be in a band
Fall madly and hopelessly in love with the man of my dreams
Marry him
Start a family
Become a Mac person
Make money from writing
Be an intern (Check!)
Take a roadtrip ( I'm hoping this will pan out in July with the bff and the new In-N-Out in Southern Utah.)
Participate in NaNoWriMo
Buy a pair of boots from J.Crew
Own Chuck Taylors in a unique color
Make a sizable dent in my To-Read list
Be kissed on top of the Eiffel Tower
Go to the Sundance Film Festival and meet a C-list celebrity
Be taken on a ridiculously expensive date
Take up yoga
Learn to love running
Visit at least five new museums
Watch the full series of Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Arrested Development, Freaks and Geeks, and Battlestar Gallactica
Give up TV for a year six months
Create a classier & snazzier website/blog
Ride on a motorcycle with a dangerously hot guy
See a musical on Broadway
Get a killer (possibly literal) natural tan
Go to a Drive-In movie (I still can't believe I've never done this.)
Throw a memorable party
Adopt a pet
Get an outrageous hair cut and/or color
Learn how to properly use knives for cooking
Go on an honest-to-goodness camping trip
Quit a job that I hate
Finish a project I want to quit
Eat healthier
Try every flavor of Jones Soda
Develop a personal style (in the works) and OWN it
Make friends with people in the indie/alt music scene
Play in the Gateway Water Fountains
Learn how to drive a stick shift

Great job. I definitely think 'quitting a job you hate' is an important one to have on the list. So many of my friends had jobs in their twenties that they absolutely detested and stuck with for far too long!
As for Europe- you have to do that one too. It's life changing. And? They serve wine in cartons!

Great list. I need to start one of my own. I've already got "quitting a job you hate" and I'm ready to cross off the intern thing.

That "buckets" line might be my favorite line ever from 30 Rock. Awesome.

Oh, by the way... As someone who has participated in (and completed!) NaNoWriMo, I can tell you that you'll kill two birds with one stone if you do it... that'll be the project you start that you'll want to quit. But it's SO WORTH IT to do it. And if you do, try to go to write-ins with other people. I know it sounds lame to just go type next to other people typing, but it's a great experience and there's a lot of synergy in the room. The day I went to one, I wrote over 6,000 words.

I need to do this list for my 30s (eeek!)
things I would include from your list
Buy a pair of boots from JCrew
become a mac person
learn to love running
finish a project I want to quit
quit a job I hate
(but that would be my current job!)

Such ambition! I can definitely help you with the "for real camping trip". Oh man, idea! We can go on a roommate and other great girls backpacking trip through the tetons. Tiff will need a break from Will soon enough.
In your 40s decade don't forget our cruise.

What a fantastic list! I love it. :) You have some great aspirations! I did my list last year and it is on the side of my blog so I don't forget it!

Great list. I have a lot of things that are the same. And then life comes, and things don't work out. But we can plan anyway.

Oooo! I love these kinds of lists! It is the best feeling in the world to check them off, but at the same time it is wonderful when you come up with exciting new goals to accomplish too!
My list is 3 pages long and is titled "Things to do before I'm 80 years old" Hahaha...I haven't looked at it for a while so it will be fun to go back and see if I've accomplished any of them yet!
Have fun!
